Cultivate Curiosity: Transform Your Approach to Conflict

In a world often overshadowed by conflict and division, it's easy to find ourselves caught in a perpetual state of reaction. I know. Deep, right? This realization came to me during a seemingly habitual outing with my parents to church last week where something my former pastor said struck me deeply. He spoke about a time during World War II when all efforts and resources were redirected toward the war effort, leaving no room for anything else. This made me reflect on our current societal landscape, where so much of our energy is consumed by conflicts, political divisions and various other challenges.

I couldn't help but think about the teams I work with — the organizations, families and communities all grappling with these stressors. We're often caught up in anger and rage, or even indifference, opting out entirely. I began to wonder what might happen if we redirected our focus. What if, instead of tearing each other down, we got curious? What if we paused to see each other as human beings with our own stories and perspectives? This video is my invitation to you to reflect on whether your organization, home or community is solely investing in conflict or actively building something positive and inclusive.

If you’re open to it, why not explore together how shifting our mindset from conflict to curiosity can transform not only our work environments but our lives as a whole?

Let’s get curious. Together.
