Taboo Topics Feelings Wheel.
This “inclusion stuff” is tough. So, how are you feeling right now?
The Taboo Topics Feelings Wheel is a comprehensive tool designed to navigate the complex emotional landscape associated with inclusion work.
The wheel is divided into two halves: the left side captures the languishing, or negative, feelings that often arise in challenging inclusion efforts. These emotions include sadness (blue), anger (green) and fear (purple), each representing common reactions to exclusion, resistance and uncertainty. On the right side, the wheel highlights flourishing, or positive, emotions that can counterbalance the negative feelings. These emotions are represented by hopefulness (yellow), pride (red) and empowerment (orange), symbolizing the potential for positive change, the celebration of milestones, and the strength gained from successful advocacy. Together, the Taboo Topics Feelings Wheel provides a balanced perspective, acknowledging both the difficult and uplifting emotional experiences in the journey toward greater inclusion.
